Let us pray 3( New Testament prayer points )
Scriptures teach us to pray for all believers
Ephesians 6:18 KJV
[18] Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the
Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and
supplication for all saints;
Such category of believers are our ministers ,our pastors ,
One of our duties is to minister to our leaders
We must follow the leading of the spirit to do this not our
emotions
Following the scriptures is to be led by the Spirit .
The minister of the gospel is either a preacher or teacher of
the word or both..
So first and foremost I pray for him to be effective in this
1)Firstly I pray for utterance
Ephesians 6:19 KJV
[19] And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I
may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the
gospel,
Colossians 4:3 KJV
[3] Withal praying also for us, that God would open unto us a
door of utterance, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I
am also in bonds:
Utterance means ability to speak effectively .
2)Secondly ,we pray for the boldness of our ministers
Ministers are human and could be vulnerable to fear
Acts 23:11 KJV
[11] And the night following the Lord stood by him, and said,
Be of good cheer, Paul: for as thou hast testified of me in
Jerusalem, so must thou bear witness also at Rome.
2 Corinthians 1:8 KJV
[8] For we would not, brethren, have you ignorant of our trouble
which came to us in Asia, that we were pressed out of
measure, above strength, insomuch that we despaired even of
life:
2 Timothy 1:7-8 KJV
[7] For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power,
and of love, and of a sound mind. [8] Be not thou therefore
ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner:
but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according
to the power of God;
So we pray for boldness to declare Gods counsel .
Ephesians 6:20 KJV
[20] For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I
may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.
Acts 4:29 KJV
[29] And now, Lord, behold their threatenings: and grant unto
thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy word,
Philippians 1:20 KJV
[20] According to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in
nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as
always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body,
whether it be by life, or by death.
3)Furthermore we pray that their ministry be received without
hinderance and more importantly that they be so delivered
from the evil plans of men to fulfill their ministry
Romans 15:30-31 KJV
[30] Now I beseech you, brethren, for the Lord Jesus Christ's
sake, and for the love of the Spirit, that ye strive together with
me in your prayers to God for me; [31] That I may be delivered
from them that do not believe in Judaea; and that my service
which I have for Jerusalem may be accepted of the saints;
2 Thessalonians 3:1-2 KJV
[1] Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may
have free course, and be glorified, even as it is with you: [2]
And that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked
men: for all men have not faith.
Philippians 1:19 KJV
[19] For I know that this shall turn to my salvation through your
prayer, and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ,
Salvation here refers to deliverance .Deliverance from evil.
Evil machinations of opponents of the gospel
2 Timothy 4:17-18 KJV
[17] Notwithstanding the Lord stood with me, and
strengthened me; that by me the preaching might be fully
known, and that all the Gentiles might hear: and I was
delivered out of the mouth of the lion.
18] And the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and
will preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom: to whom be glory
for ever and ever. Amen.
Ministers face much evil especially those in very violent
territories .
We can't stop persecution
2 Timothy 3:12 KJV
[12] Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer
persecution.
Philippians 1:29 KJV
[29] For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to
believe on him, but also to suffer for his sake;
Acts 4:29 KJV
[29] And now, Lord, behold their threatenings...
Behold not stop their threatens .
but rather pray to preserve the life of the persecuted from evil .
4)Also we pray for signs and wonders be done through his
ministry
Romans 15:19 KJV
[19] Through mighty signs and wonders, by the power of the
Spirit of God; so that from Jerusalem, and round about unto
Illyricum, I have fully preached the gospel of Christ.
Acts 4:30 KJV
[30] By stretching forth thine hand to heal; and that signs and
wonders may be done by the name of thy holy child Jesus.
5)We pray for the health of our ministers too
2 Timothy 4:20 KJV
[20] Erastus abode at Corinth: but Trophimus have I left at
Miletum sick.
Trophimus is a minister .
Philippians 2:25-26 KJV
[25] Yet I supposed it necessary to send to you Epaphroditus,
my brother, and companion in labour, and fellowsoldier, but
your messenger, and he that ministered to my wants. [26] For
he longed after you all, and was full of heaviness, because that
ye had heard that he had been sick.
Hence we pray for their health
3 John 1:2 KJV
[2] Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper
and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.
Health here is physical well being ,we lift up ministers and all
believers in prayers for sound health.
6)We also pray for our ministers conscience and conduct be
pleasing to God
Hebrews 13:18 KJV
[18] Pray for us: for we trust we have a good conscience, in all
things willing to live honestly.
This is for them to maintain their integrity in service
2 Corinthians 4:2 KJV
[2] But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not
walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully;
but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to
every man's conscience in the sight of God.
It's very important we understand that ministers Face serious
opposition in many areas of ministry
1 Corinthians 16:9 KJV
[9] For a great door and effectual is opened unto me, and
there are many adversaries.
Adversaries mean(s)opponents .
