    New covenant realities 3

The scriptures gives a clear distinction between the old and
    new covenants.
We must learn to appraise this. When we do ,we readily will
    have an informed position.
    Let’s see this distinction.
    The Old Covenant.
    The New Covenant.
    Romans 8:2 KJV
[For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me
free from the law of sin and death.
The law of sin and death & The law of the Spirit of Life in
    Christ.
    2 Corinthians 3:6 KJV
[6] Who also hath made us able ministers of the new
testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter
killeth, but the spirit giveth life.
    The letter that killeth&The Spirit.
    2 Corinthians 3:7-8 KJV
[7] But if the ministration of death, written and engraven in
stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not
stedfastly behold the face of Moses for the glory of his
countenance; which glory was to be done away:
[8] How shall not the ministration of the spirit be rather
    glorious?
The Ministration of death&Ministration of the spirit.
    2 Corinthians 3:9 KJV
[9] For if the ministration of condemnation be glory, much
more doth the ministration of righteousness exceed in glory.
The Ministration of condemnation&The ministration of
    righteousness.
Furthermore the focus of the two covenants towards sin(s)
    was clearly defined.
Romans 3:19 Now we know that what things soever the law
saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth
may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before
    God.
20 Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be
justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.
The reason for the law was to declare MAN GUILTY!
This is to pave the way for a punishment to be meted out
    clearly defined.
It simply made Christ's work straightforward.
He would be brought under judgment with a law that states
    and punishes sin.
For before the law, sin reigned but it wasn't definite in its
terms of reference and judgment, this is Paul's argument in
    Romans5:13
Romans 5:13 Until the law sin was in the world but sin is not
imputed when there is NO LAW.
There is now a law for Jesus to fulfil for us.
He will die under the law, be punished by the law.
Hence, the blessings of such obedience and sufferings will be
for those for whom he died! Christ was the target of the law!
Hence He(the guiltless) became guilty for us(in our
    place).Check the following scriptures:
Matthew 5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or
the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil it.
Fulfill means to meet the obligations and requirements. This is
his death. With his death, the punishment for us sinners was
    fulfilled.
Romans 10:4b For Christ is the end of the law for
    righteousness to everyone that believeth.
End here means fulfilment. Christ is the one who fulfilled the
    requirements of the law
John 19:30-It is Finished! The word here in Greek (the original
language of the verse) implies a discharge of a debt. It means
    fully paid for!
    His death satisfied the law.
Galatians 3:13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the
law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is
every one that hangeth on a tree:
14 That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles
through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the
    Spirit through faith.
He took all the punishment of the law. It becomes illegal to
punish anyone under the law again! All a man can receive will
    be the blessing(s) though faith.
So what is the New Covenant?
It’s the fulfilment of all requirements for man under the Old
    covenant By JESUS!
The new covenant unlike the old isn't written in any book.
    It’s in Christ!
In His blood, His death, His sacrifice, His life for us. We are
the result of the New Covenant.
Justified, Accepted, Sanctified all By Christ's sufferings.
A key factor is How both covenants speaks of persons.
David’s sins were recorded under the Old covenant.
We read the Chronicles and the Samuel account.
    We find it all there.
It’s the law of sin and death. It must point to it.
The New Covenant gives no such records! We find David the
Righteous by Faith (of Christ),the Baarsheba debacle isn't
    given any account.
The blood of Jesus only gives him a good report.
    Hebrews 11:2 KJV
[2] For by it the elders obtained a good report.
David's Report in Christ is by faith.
    Faith in the blood.
    It is good.
    Not David's good.But Christs Good
    Reckoned to David's account
Samson is a hero in the New Covenant.
He is recorded as an elder who obtained a good report.
He is in the cloud of witness.
Delilah isn’t noted in the New Covenant.
    Hebrews 11:32-33 KJV
[32] And what shall I more say? for the time would fail me to
    tell of Gedeon, and of Barak, and of Samson, and of Jephthae;
of David also, and Samuel, and of the prophets: [33] Who
through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness,
obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions,
    Only faith counts!
    Moses indiscretion isn't mentioned.
The New covenant views his fleeing from Egypt as an act of
    faith.
The Old covenant records it as running from Pharaoh.
The new records it as esteeming the riches of Christ-
    Hebrews 11:24-27 KJV
[24] By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to
    be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter;
[25] Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God,
than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season; [26] Esteeming
the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in
Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward.
    [
27] By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king:
for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible.
    Wow! We have read wrongly.
Wondering why? Maybe it's an oversight! Or The new covenant
    doesn't like to expose!
    No!
The New Covenant places ALL SINS of Jesus! And grants
righteousness to ALL that believe in Him!
Let’s see the spirit and substance of this New Covenant!
Hebrews 8:10For this is the covenant that I will make with the
house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my
laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will
be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:
11 And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and
every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall
know me, from the least to the greatest.
12 For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins
and their iniquities will I remember no more.
13 In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first
old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to
    vanish away.
I WILL REMEMBER THEIR SINS NO MORE!
That’s the spirit and essence of the new covenant!
NO RECORDS OF SINS WILL EXIST IN OUR ACCOUNT!
    AWESOME!
    Paul puts it this way
2Corinthians 5:19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling
the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto
them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
20Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God
did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye
    reconciled to God.
    21For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin;
that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
God will not be counting sins against us!
    That will be double entry!
It is injustice to repeat a punishment that has been sufficiently
undertaken for the same cause. Christ has suffered ONCE and
    FOR ALL for sins!
Charles H.Spurgeon ,popularly referred to as Prince of
    Preachers puts it thus
"Since Christ died once and for all,the believer is saved once
    and for all"
Hence stop reading a fallen Samson, or adulterous David!
Read the import of Christ’s sufferings for their misdeeds and
    receive from that!
You will be rightly dividing the word of truth!
Let’s begin to live by faith, the faith of Christ, the new
    covenant in His blood!
Blessed? Say I am thankful for the New Covenant, where
Christ fulfils all my obligations under the law for me! I am
    blessed in Christ!
