    DOING THE WORKS OF JESUS

DOING THE WORKS OF JESUS Reloaded
John 14:12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on
me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works
than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
It is always wonderful when one reads through the four human
accounts of the earthly walk of Jesus Christ usually referred to
as the Gospels inspired by the Holy Ghost (II Timothy3:16),
we are able to grasp as humanly possible; what the son of God
did on the streets of men! (John2:11).
He worked, talked and demonstrated the power of God to
humanity in a way that no one had ever done.
He healed the sick (Mathew 8:16-17)
When the even was come, they brought unto him many that
were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits with his
word, and healed all that were sick: That it might be fulfilled
which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took
our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses.
Healing the sick was a norm in Jesus days on earth.
In Mathew 9:35; And Jesus went about all the cities and
villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the
gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every
    disease among the people.
We could see his ministry summed up in three things; He
taught, preached and healed the sick.
The same account is rendered in Mathew4:23.
It is a sad occurrence today to see some part of the church
refuse to acknowledge that healing the sick is part and parcel
    of the gospel.
He cast out devils(demons) (Mathew 8:16)
Jesus did not need deliverance, he preached it! Christians do
not need deliverance (Colossians 1:13; Colossians2:15,
    John8:36, Galatians 5:1).
Colossians 1:13 Who hath delivered us from the power of
darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear
    Son.
Looking at his life, he sure knew that he had complete
    dominion over satan.
    He even raised the dead.
The dead are usually considered a closed case. Jarius
daughters case was typical of this (Mark5:35-43).
Not Jesus! He is master over death. Lazarus tomb recognized
the voice of the master, such that he had to specify whom he
wanted raised or else the grave could have given up more
    (John11:1-44).
    He calmed the storm!!!
Natural forces usually referred to as Acts of God listened to
the Real act of God. He didnt pray about the storm, which
was for Elijah to do, he spoke to it! No one talked like him
    (Mark4:37-41).
    Works of Jesus, history?
Were these works written for us to flip through and praise
God? Or preach about them? Or rather be able to tell others
what Jesus did? No, a million times NO! jesus of Nazareth
sure lived 331/2 years but Jesus, our Christ, is still alive today
in the body of Christ, glory to God. Such that he is not limited
to any place but can be demonstrated anywhere and
    everywhere.
Mathew 28:20 Teaching them to observe all things
whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you
always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
STRONGHOLDS AGAINST THE WORKS OF JESUS (II
    CORINTHIANS 10:4)
For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty
through God to the pulling down of strong holds.
Strongholds are thought patterns informed either by our
experience or by teachings we have received.
    This often wages war against truths taught with scriptures;
Mark 7:13 Making the word of God of none effect through
    your tradition.
It was because Jesus was God.
How? You mean as God, He was born and He grew?
And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, and increased
    in wisdom and stature.(Luke2:40&52)
No, you mean God had to be anointed? No.
Luke4:18 The spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because he
    hath anointed me.
Acts 10:38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the
Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good and
healing all that were oppressed of the devil for God was with
    him.
You mean as God he was hungry, thirsty, slept, tired? You
    mean as God was tempted?
James 1:13-14 “….for God cannot be tempted with evil neither
    tempt he any man:
Hebrews 4:15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be
touched by the feeling of our infirmities; but was at all points
tempted like as we are yet without sin.
He worked miracles because he was anointed and he was
anointed by the Holy spirit because he was a man.
Philippians 2:6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not
robbery to be equal with God:
But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the
form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men And
being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and
became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
The truth is God became a man, called Jesus, who has since
his birth/incarnation become a MAN and has remained so.
He was referring to the twelve
Ah! Did that include Paul, Stephen, Phillip, Silas, Judas,
    Barnabas, Ananias and Agabus? No!
1Corinthians 12:5-7 And there are differences of
    administrations, but the same Lord.
And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God
which worketh all in all. But the manifestation of the Spirit is
given to every man to profit withal.
1Corinthians 12:28 And God hath set some in the church, first
apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that
miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities
    of tongues.
Jesus said “….he that believes in Me i.e a believer which
    includes you! John14:12.
Mark 16:15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world
and preach the gospel to every creature
The great commission and its signs were for the twelve (12)
    or eleven (11)!!!
Well he asked them to preach Mark 16:15 and the signs will
follow i.e accompany those who believe the gospel which
    includes you.
The era of miracles has passed
Really? The era of miracles is the era of power, the power of
God. May be in the world after this. But really Hebrews13:8
JESUS IS THE SAME YESTERDAY (the four gospels), TODAY
(2014) and FOREVER MORE…” till the end. Hence those words
Lo I am with you forever Mathew 28:20
Well I got you sir but how many days do I fast for this power
    or get anointed for it?
    None!
Its like fasting for oil reserves in the Niger-Delta of Nigeria.
    You might die doing it.
Yet the oil will remain untapped. Simply locate the oil, its been
there ever. Get down to hearing the preached word and
    reading the written word.
    You will find out
    1. Power has clothed you.
Luke 24:49 And behold, I send the promise of my father upon
you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued
    with power from on high.
    2. Power has come upon you
Acts 1:8 But ye shall receive power after that the Holy Ghost
    is come upon you…”
    3. Power is at work towards you
Ephesians 1:19 And what is the exceeding greatness of his
    power to-usward who believe.
    4. You have been called into power
2Peter 1:3 According as his divine powerhath called us to
    glory and virtue(power).
    5. Power works in you now.
    6. Ephesians3:20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding
abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the
    power that worketh in us
    The Church
The church is to carry on what Jesus did! The scriptures even
talk of the greater works, glory to God! Could we do greater
works than Jesus? Yeah! We are already doing these. We were
entrusted with that message (THE GOSPEL) 1Timothy 1:11,
    Romans 1:16, Mathew 28:19-20, Mark 16:15-18.
    THE GREATEST MESSAGE OF ALL
Mark 16:15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world,
and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and
is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be
damned. And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my
name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new
tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any
deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the
    sick, and they shall recover.
Even Jesus did not preach that message, he is the message!
As we go on in life, we must live with a sense of responsibility
to Do, Preach and Demonstrate a living, healing and miracle
working Jesus to the unbelieving world. This is how to imitate
    God(Ephesians5:1, John5:19)
John 5:19 Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily,
verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but
what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth,
these also doeth the Son likewise.
Living in his name (John14:12-13) and demonstrating
    Christianity to the world.
    Christianity without miracles?
Thats religion! Pure and simple. Anyone who criticizes the
working of miracles needs to examine himself whether hes
still in the faith (II Corinthians13:5).
The book of Acts of the church(Apostles) shows a church that
knew the name of Jesus. It goes far above good speech and
rhetorics with high sounding philosophical arguments and so
called success motivation and sand-filled words.
We are talking about the gospel! Men without education can
preach and demonstrate it; young people sure can and even
    the learned.
It is all about Gods power being preached to the world.
Mark16:15-18 And he said unto them, Go ye.And these
signs shall follow.., they shall cast out devilstake up
serpentsthey shall lay hands on the sick.
What a command! This shows us the proofs of a Christian. Are
you a Christian? Any works? If no, repent and start pleasing
God by doing the works of our lord.
You have a miracle filled week
