What are you building?
As an up coming generation of ministers and ministries,we must be watchful not to set wrong goals and targets
Today,a number of us have gotten our priorities wrong
We have either been wrongly led or assumed in error that the evidence of success in ministry tallies with big corporations
Buildings,Real Estate,Cash,Assets etc
Jesus' Commandments were clear
In Matthew 10:4-6
Mat 10:4 Simon the Canaanite, and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed him.
Mat 10:5 These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not:
Mat 10:7 And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand.
Mat 10:8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.
Matthew 28:18-20
Mat 28:18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
Mat 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
Mat 28:20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
Then
Mark 16:15-18
Mar 16:15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
Mar 16:16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
We were sent to Men&for Men
Hence the true proof of ministry should be men
1Co 3:9 For we are labourers together with God: ye are God's husbandry, ye are God's building.
2Co 3:2 Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men:
1Th 2:20 For ye are our glory and joy.
Buildings etc are necessities of convenience in our day and age but must never become our targets
It's noteworthy ALL the temples built for God weren't for Him His dwelling place till Jesus made Him a tabernacle, The new creation in Christ
Ephesians 2:21-22
Eph 2:21 In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord:
Eph 2:22 In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.
This clearly shows you where Gods attention is
He lives in us and amongst us
We are the ones needing places to gather and function
1corinthians 14:23
1Co 14:23 If therefore the whole church be come together into one place...
It's apt to recall the church didn't own any properties or building within the first 1000 years of its birth
Our emphasis must remain the kind of men in these buildings, tents,hotel locations,sitting rooms,class rooms, massive structures etc
Are they saved?
Filled with the spirit?
Carnal or spiritual?
Babes or matured?
Worldly or Supernatural?
Not rich or poor,elites or non elites.
Those have no single spiritual bearing
What happens in the places we meet?
Is the Holy Ghost given free course?
Is the bible supreme via the exaltation of Christ in His Word?
Are needs met?basically spiritual needs.
Are believers trained for the work of ministry?
Ephesians 4:12
Eph 4:12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
Eph 4:13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:
Or all you do is people management and sustaining the narrative with events like concerts,shows,talks etc
Whether you are presently meeting under a tree or in a one million seater auditorium, kindly run this biblical litmus test.
Once again,the proof of a good farmer isn't the tools he uses but the fruit he produces.
Who are the men in your church,that's the building,"real estate"proof that matters
