What Every believer must know (3)
Romans 1:16 KJV [16] For I am not ashamed of the gospel of
Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every
one
that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
The redemptive work of Jesus saves from sin and further
changes our identity .
We have new descriptions by God.
Written in scriptures.
Since we are saved with the gospel we must believe its
contents and provisions. We are to acknowledge the realities
therein.
[And I pray] that the participation in and sharing of your
faith
may produce and promote full recognition and appreciation
and understanding and precise knowledge of every good
[thing] that is ours in [our identification with] Christ
Jesus [and
unto His glory]. (Philemon 1:6 AMP).
Your walk as a Christian is only as effective as your
understanding of things that are yours in Christ.
Like the miner, we must keep digging to find the treasures
hid
in Him for us.
The scriptures are twofold. Types/shadows and the reality.
Such [things] are only the shadow of things that are to
come,
and they have only a symbolic value. But the reality (the
substance, the solid fact of what is foreshadowed, the body
of
it) belongs to Christ. (Colossians 2:17 AMP).
Prophecies and fulfilment of same.
27)Then beginning with Moses and [throughout] all the
Prophets, He went on explaining and interpreting to them in
all
the Scriptures the things concerning and referring to
Himself.
44)Then He said to them, This is what I told you while I was
still with you: everything which is written concerning Me in
the
Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms must be
fulfilled. (Luke 24:27, 44 AMP)
Promises and the establishment of same.
For as many as are the promises of God, they all find their
Yes
[answer] in Him [Christ]. For this reason we also utter the
Amen
(so be it) to God through Him [in His Person and by His
agency] to the glory of God. (2 Corinthians 1:20 AMP)
The prophecies contained the promises.
All fulfilled in Christ Jesus. By Him.
For I tell you that Christ (the Messiah) became a servant
and a
minister to the circumcised (the Jews) in order to show
God's
truthfulness and honesty by confirming (verifying) the
promises
[given] to our fathers, (Romans 15:8 AMP)
This was crowned upon His resurrection from the dead.
So now we are bringing you the good news (Gospel) that what
God promised to our forefathers, This He has completely
fulfilled for us, their children, by raising up Jesus, as it
is
written in the second psalm, You are My Son; today I have
begotten You [caused You to arise, to be born; formally
shown
You to be the Messiah by the resurrection]. [Ps. 2:7.] (Acts
13:32, 33 AMP)
Glory.
Hence we say the scriptures are Christo-Centric. Christ-
Centered.
...And these [very Scriptures] testify about Me! (John 5:39
AMP)
He is the explanation and revelation of scriptures.
Hence we can dig safely into the prophetic scriptures.
Psalm 102:18 KJV [18] This shall be written for the
generation
to come: and the people which shall be created shall praise
the Lord.
The first Adam was created.
Afterwards what we have is procreation.
All others were from him, the first Adam.
Genesis 5:3 KJV And Adam lived an hundred and thirty years,
and begat a son in his own likeness, after his image; and
called his name Seth:
This exemplifies that humanity. In his image and after his
likeness.
The dead Man. Fallen as it were into sin.
Paul gave an apt description.
1 Corinthians 15:45,47 KJV [45] And so it is written, The
first
man Adam was made a living ..
47] The first man is of the earth, earthy..
He is called first. All men were found in him.
Dead , not buried in sepulchres or cemeteries.
But buried in sin.
Ephesians 2:1-3 KJV [1] And you hath he quickened , who
were dead in trespasses and sins;
2] Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of
this world, according to the prince of the power of the air,
the
spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:
3] Among whom also we all had our conversation in times
past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of
the flesh
and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath,
even as others.
This is state of all men so procreated.
Hence Jesus' explanation to Nicodemus.
John 3:6-7 KJV [6] That which is born of the flesh is flesh;
and
that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
7] Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.
Man must be born again.
Until this happens, he is called flesh otherwise meaning
dead
in sin.
Romans 5:12 KJV [12] Wherefore, as by one man sin entered
into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon
all
men, for that all have sinned:
In this state God's will isn't done. He is not pleased.
Romans 8:8 KJV So then they that are in the flesh cannot
please God.
In the flesh here isn't a behaviour, rather it's a
condition.
In Adam, the first Adam.
So the prophecy of Psalm 102:18 has to be a new creation.
The new birth.
If it's done in the first Adam, it can't be new.
Hence, the Work is in Christ Jesus.
Since He is deity .
He can't be born, Only incarnate.
John1:1-18) Here he is referred to As Man.
But not a procreation of Adam.
He is God with us (Isaiah 7:14).
God made manifest in the flesh (1 Timothy 3:16).
He will remain only begotten in His incarnation until He's
dead
and raised to life.
At the incarnation, Paul refers to this as the second
Adam-
1 Corinthians 15:47 KJV The first man is of the earth,
earthy:
the second man is the Lord from heaven.
The Lord from heaven .
At His incarnation, He came from heaven.
Paul further calls Him the Last Adam.
1 Corinthians 15:45 KJV And so it is written, The first man
Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a
quickening spirit.
A life giving spirit. This is the resurrection.
When He quickened. Gave life to the dead.
Here we are identified in Him.
Ephesians 2:5-6 KJV [5] Even when we were dead in sins, hath
quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)
6] And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together
in
heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
In this, He's called first begotten.
From the dead.
Colossians 1:18 KJV [18] And he is the head of the body, the
church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead;
that
in all things he might have the preeminence.
The dead refers to men.
Dead men buried in sin.
He was buried with us ,for our sins not His.
He now has many brethren.
Romans 8:29 KJV [29] For whom he did foreknow, he also did
predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that
he
might be the firstborn among many brethren.
He isn't only .He is amongst many of His kind.
Hebrews 2:10-11 KJV [10] For it became him, for whom are all
things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons
unto
glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect
through
sufferings.
11] For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified
are
all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them
brethren,
We are now found in a new Adam.
The Last Adam. A new humanity.
For we are God's [own] handiwork (His workmanship),
recreated in Christ Jesus, [born anew] that we may do those
good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for
us [taking paths which He prepared ahead of time], that we
should walk in them [living the good life which He
prearranged
and made ready for us to live]. (Ephesians 2:10 AMP)
Man is recreated in Christ.
Now are we Sons.
1 John 3:2 KJV [2] Beloved, now are we the sons of God...
We have His Spirit.
Romans 8:14-16 KJV [14] For as many as are led by the Spirit
of God, they are the sons of God.
15] For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to
fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby
we
cry, Abba, Father.
16] The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that
we are
the children of God:
The Word Led in verse 14 implies being taken from. It goes
beyond direction.
It brings a new direction...
We have the Spirit of adoption.
Galatians 4:6 KJV [6] And because ye are sons, God hath sent
forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba,
Father.
This is the Spirit of His Son. So Christ has fulfilled the
prophetic scriptures concerning the new creation, new man
,new species.
We must acknowledge this.
2 Corinthians 5:17 KJV [17] Therefore if any man be in
Christ,
he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold,
all
things are become new.
In Christ, You are a New Man.
A new creature.
Not like the first Adam, You still a man but a Man in
Christ.
Far beyond sin, Satan and its dictates .
This man needs no intermediary to go to/ before God.
No deliverance .
He is new! He is in Christ.
Glad? I am a man in Christ, a new species, in Him I am God's
son. Jesus is Lord, We Win!
