Leading of The Spirit(Direction in a simple way
)1 John 8:12(KJV) 12[Then spake Jesus again unto them,
saying, ] I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall
not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.
Light is a gift in Christ.
Jesus speaks of followers.
Followers are believers .
Disciples.
We become disciples by the gospel .
Matthew 28:18-20 (KJV) 18[And Jesus came and spake unto
them, saying, ] All power is given unto me in heaven and in
earth.
19Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the
name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
20Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have
commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the
end of the world. Amen.
The Narratives of Luke in the book of acts relates this well.
It calls believers disciples and disciples are believers.
Ephesians 5:8-9 (KJV) 8[For ye were sometimes darkness, but
now ] are ye[ light in the Lord: walk as children of light:]
9[(For the fruit of the Spirit ] is[ in all goodness and
righteousness and truth;)]
We are now Light in Him.
The Originals of verse 9 is rendered Fruit of the Light.
We have the fruit of the Light.
Colossians 1:13(KJV) 13[Who hath delivered us from the
power of darkness, and hath translated ] us[ into the kingdom
of his dear Son:]
We have been delivered from darkness and transferred into
the Kingdom of Sons.
We have taken the identity of our new nation.
It's a kingdom of Sons.
We are Sons.
Since a nation is made up of its citizens.
We are the lights of the kingdom of Light.
1 Peter 2:9(KJV) 9[But ye ] are[ a chosen generation, a royal
priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should
shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of
darkness into his marvellous light:]
Peter calls it marvellous .
This means full of wonders ,miracles .
1 John 1:2-4 (KJV) 2[(For the life was manifested, and we
have seen ] it[, and bear witness, and shew unto you that
eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested
unto us;)]
3[That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you,
that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our
fellowship ] is[ with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.]
Our fellowship is with the Father .
Fellowship is union.
1 John 1:5(KJV) 5[This then is the message which we have
heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in
him is no darkness at all.]
There's no darkness.
Its only Light.
Paul retorts further.
2 Corinthians 6:14(KJV) 14[Be ye not unequally yoked together
with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with
unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with
darkness?]
Believers are called Light.
Light means direction.
It never lacks it. It gives direction.
We have since left the path of confusion.
We are never without what to do and how to do it.
John 1:4-5 (KJV) 4[In him was life; and the life was the light
of men.] 5[And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness
comprehended it not.]
We are in Him.
Direction is our inheritance in Christ.
We don't pray for direction.
It's ours .
We pray to know it.
To see it.
Walk in it.
God has given every believer His Spirit.
Romans 8:9(KJV) 9[But ye are not in the flesh, but in the
Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any
man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.]
We are His.
Romans 8:14(KJV) 14[For as many as are led by the Spirit of
God, they are the sons of God.]
We are Led by His Spirit.
He will not lead us anymore than He has led us.
"Led "here carries the thought of union with another . His
Spirit.
It's a very strong word.
It infers and implies partnership, fellowship, oneness.
1 Corinthians 6:17(KJV) 17[But he that is joined unto the Lord
is one spirit.]
We are one Spirit.
Direction is in this union.
He never abandoned us to find out the way to go.
He led,and leads us.
He always does.
We are to find out what He's leading for, where He's leading
to.
We are Led by His Spirit.
We are Light. We have Light. We must walk in This truth.
Direction is not the result of prayer and fasting
. It's the fruit of CHRIST'S redemptive sacrifice .
It's a function of the indwelling of the Spirit. It's ours in Him
We continue....
